Odíhg Qàpfoj (/qəp/ /foj/ [tide] [wild]) is a subtropical Small Town located in the Suamaga County of the Picham Community.
The name Odíhg Qàpfoj is derived from the Tauric language, as Odíhg Qàpfoj was founded by Hrybnyh Lewis, who was culturaly Tauric.
Climate
Odíhg Qàpfoj has a yearly average temperature of 28°C (82°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 26°C (78°F). Odíhg Qàpfoj receives an average of 232 cm/y (91 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Odíhg Qàpfoj covers an area of nearly 3 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 2882 m (9455 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Odíhg Qàpfoj was founded durring the early 14th century in summer of the year 1318, by Hrybnyh Lewis. The establishment of Odíhg Qàpfoj was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Odíhg Qàpfoj's construction back out of the project. Hrybnyh Lewis pushed on reguardles, and Odíhg Qàpfoj was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.
Odíhg Qàpfoj was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Odíhg Qàpfoj is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Odíhg Qàpfoj is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of premissive baked earthen streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The town is protected by a humble stone fence which is tall enough to provide adiquite cover for defenders to fire from, but no more than that. The peasent-grade has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.
Right off the bat Odíhg Qàpfoj hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this town has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things. The town is very clearly a joyfull place as well as wealthy. Music can be heard often, as well as laughter. The smell of food and drink permiates the air. You can’t help but smile.
Civic Infrastructure
Odíhg Qàpfoj has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Odíhg Qàpfoj.
Odíhg Qàpfoj has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Odíhg Qàpfoj has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Odíhg Qàpfoj has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Odíhg Qàpfoj's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Odíhg Qàpfoj has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.
Odíhg Qàpfoj has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Cultural Notes
The locals have cut a deal with some unspeakable entity, trading some form of tribute (benign of horrific) in exchange for the being’s forbearance or assistance. Outsiders may be ignorant of the bargain, or they may know that the community is in thrall but be too fearful of its master to take action against them. The creature likely serves as a protector as well as a tyrant, so the locals may be content with the deal even if it doesn’t offer any further inducement or aid.
Odíhg Qàpfoj's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used has a sleek, linear appearance with stylized, often geometric ornamentation. The primary facade of its buildings often featured a series of set backs that create a stepped outline. Low-relief decorative panels can be found at entrances, around windows, along roof edges or as string courses. It was best known for its use of smooth finish building materials such as stucco, concrete block, glazed brick or mosaic tile. Decorative details can incorporate various artistic or exotic motifs to suit the building's function or the architect's whim. Chevrons, zigzags, and other geometrical motifs are common forms of ornament.
In Odíhg Qàpfoj snow is warm to the touch and does not melt within city limits. Also it only happens during summer.
The Flea, Giant near Odíhg Qàpfoj are known to be quite timid.
Odíhg Qàpfoj's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves creating small tokens to channel Charm energies of tier 2 via oath swearing.
